THIS IS MY LIFE cont'd

Ethel is 104 years old and has the most astonishingly beautiful photographs of herself and family. She also has a remarkable memory and a wonderful sense of humour. Working with her three nieces who visit every week, we put together a fascinating visual and written insight into her life over the last century.

At the end of the residency, we invited everyone who had been involved in the project to an afternoon tea at the home. All the life story books were on display. Despite being individual projects, everyone felt they had been involved in a shared group project which had brought the residents closer together.

Feedback on the celebration event from one of Ethel's nieces:

"We had such a lovely afternoon at Silk Court today and it was so nice to meet both your collegues and the friends/residents on such a lovely occasion. It was also a real treat to have the opportunity to see some of the albums and personal history of the residents.
Aunty was alert and the best we have seen her in a long time - just goes to show what a bit of interactivity can accomplish!"
